Vitor Roque Shines as Palmeiras Crush Remo in Six-Goal Thriller

Palmeiras delivered a statement victory at the Allianz Parque, dismantling Remo 6-1 to stay within reach of Flamengo at the top of the Brasileirão. The headline story was the return of Vitor Roque, known as 'Tigrinho,' who spearheaded a dominant attacking display after several weeks on the sidelines due to injury.

The match began explosively, with Jhon Arias finding the net twice within the first 15 minutes. His opening goal was set up by a clever touch from Vitor Roque, while his second came courtesy of a precise cross from Khellven. Mauricio, who has emerged as a creative leader for Abel Ferreira’s side, added a third from the penalty spot as the 'Verdão' took complete control.

Vitor Roque remained at the center of the action and thought he had scored his own goal at the half-hour mark. After a VAR review, however, the referee officially credited the strike as an own goal by Marcelinho. Despite the technicality, the young forward's influence was undeniable throughout his time on the pitch.

Eyeing the Libertadores Final

With the result effectively secured, Abel Ferreira opted to rotate his squad, introducing José Manuel López. The Argentine forward, often referred to as 'Flaco,' quickly demonstrated why he is considered one of the elite strikers in South American football. He scored a powerful goal shortly after coming on and later provided an assist for Felipe Anderson to complete the 6-1 rout.

This emphatic win provides Palmeiras with significant momentum as they head into a crucial period of the season. Before facing Estudiantes de la Plata in the Copa Libertadores final at the Centenario, the club must navigate a challenging domestic schedule. This includes a cup semi-final against Vasco da Gama and vital league encounters with Cruzeiro and Flamengo.
