Manchester United Deny City in Thrilling Derby Draw

Elisabeth Terland's late goal secured a point for Manchester United, ending Manchester City's perfect start to the WSL season.
Manchester United halted Manchester City's flawless start to the Women's Super League season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Progress with Unity Stadium. The result prevents City from maintaining their perfect record and sees them slip behind Chelsea in the league standings on goal difference.
A Tale of Two Moments
Khadija Shaw, celebrating her 100th WSL appearance, appeared to have secured the win for the visitors when she broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. Despite being tightly marked by Dominique Janssen, the forward managed to find the bottom corner to give City the lead.
However, the momentum shifted in the final minute of normal time. A cross from Maya Le Tissier was awkwardly cleared by Shaw, landing perfectly for Elisabeth Terland. The United forward struck cleanly to beat Ayaka Yamashita and secure a deserved point for Eva Olid’s side.
The draw leaves City in second place, level on points with Chelsea, while United’s resilience under Olid continues their unbeaten run of five league matches, moving them up to fourth in the table.
