Liverpool Players and Fans Outraged After Penalty Controversy

Liverpool are left fuming after a missed penalty call in their loss to Arsenal, with the manager suggesting players may now need to dive to get decisions.
Liverpool are reeling following a controversial 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Anfield, where a clear shirt pull on Alexander Isak by Jurrien Timber went unpunished. Neither referee Andy Madley nor the VAR team intervened, leaving the hosts frustrated as they failed to convert any of their 18 attempts on goal.
The situation escalated after half-time when footage appeared to show Madley joking with Arsenal players. While the encounter could have been innocent, it added to the sense of injustice among the Anfield faithful, who watched their team drop to fifth in the Premier League table.
Manager and Players Consider Drastic Measures
"If Alex falls down it’s a clear penalty. I don’t think we are the type of team to do that but from now on we might need to do it."
Dominik Szoboszlai
Manager Andoni Iraola expressed similar frustration, confirming he would advise his players to go to ground in future challenges to ensure officials notice the contact. Captain Virgil van Dijk also criticized the reliance on VAR, questioning why the technology failed to rectify such an obvious error.
"It's a shame you ask me this question, but honestly, yes, we have to tell them, go down, because they're not going to call it otherwise."
