Vincent Kompany Hospitalized Following Training Ground Collapse

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been taken to hospital after collapsing at the club's training facility on Friday.
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been rushed to a hospital following a collapse at the club's Säbener Straße training ground. An air ambulance was seen landing at the facility on Friday, shortly before the 40-year-old was transported by road ambulance for medical treatment.
The incident follows a difficult week for the former Manchester City captain, who has been struggling with a persistent viral infection. Reports indicate that the virus has exacerbated issues related to old scar tissue, making physical movement, such as climbing stairs, increasingly difficult for the manager.
Struggles with illness
Despite his deteriorating condition, Kompany had attempted to remain active, even managing his side during Wednesday's 2-2 Champions League draw against Arsenal. Following that match, he admitted that his health had been compromised by his refusal to rest.
"I caught a pretty nasty virus last week, and of course I didn't listen to my body, and then at some point my body said: Stop now."

Assistant coach Aaron Danks had previously stepped in to handle media duties, emphasizing the need for the manager to prioritize his recovery. The club is expected to provide further updates on his condition as he undergoes examinations by medical experts, including team doctor Prof. Roland Schmidt.
