Justin Ellis Strike Leads USMNT Past Canada

The United States Men's National Team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Canada in a physical friendly match at Allianz Field.
The United States Men's National Team concluded their latest international window with a hard-fought 1-0 win against North American rivals Canada. Played at Allianz Field, the friendly encounter was defined by intense competition and physical play from the opening whistle.
A Decisive Moment
Justin Ellis proved to be the difference-maker, finding the back of the net in the 29th minute. Despite sustaining an early knock that required medical attention, Ellis remained in the match to capitalize on an assist from Alex Freeman, securing the only goal of the night.
The match remained aggressive throughout the first half, with multiple players receiving yellow cards as both sides looked to establish dominance. Canada pushed hard for an equalizer after the break, coming closest in the 63rd minute when a strike from Luc de Fougerolles rattled the crossbar.
Although the visitors controlled possession for much of the second half, the American defense held firm. Goalkeeper Brian Schwake was instrumental in preserving the clean sheet, recording three saves to ensure the victory for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The USMNT now turns its attention to the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal series. The team is scheduled to play the first leg on November 14, followed by the return leg at home on November 17.
