UEFA demands answers from FIFA president Gianni Infantino

UEFA has issued a strict two-week deadline to FIFA, demanding answers to 42 governance questions regarding Gianni Infantino's presidency.
UEFA has ramped up its scrutiny of FIFA, issuing an urgent demand for clarity regarding the governing body's recent decision-making processes. General secretary Theodore Theodoridis has formally requested answers to 42 detailed questions, setting a deadline of November 2 for a response.
Addressing governance concerns
The inquiry follows a FIFA Council meeting where European leaders expressed significant dissatisfaction with the explanations provided regarding controversial topics, including the abandoned FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal and the awarding of a Peace Prize to Donald Trump.
"These questions require answers now."

The list of concerns also touches upon allegations of undisclosed remuneration for the FIFA president, the handling of disciplinary cases such as that of Folarin Balogun, and potential conflicts of interest involving private investment firms. UEFA has further requested an audio recording of the recent council meeting to ensure complete transparency.
Debbie Hewitt, the Football Association chair and a FIFA vice-president, noted the severity of the situation, stating that failing to address these inquiries would call into question the president's fitness for office. With the upcoming presidential election, UEFA is pushing for accountability regarding past actions rather than relying on promises of future reforms.
