Tenerife commits to supporting late striker's daughter until adulthood

Tenerife will provide long-term financial support for the one-year-old daughter of the late Jesús de Miguel following his tragic passing.
The football community is mourning the loss of Jesús de Miguel, who passed away this week at age 30. The striker suffered fatal injuries following an on-field collision with Andorra FC goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a Segunda División match, which was subsequently abandoned.
A lasting commitment to the family
Tenerife has announced a significant pledge to support the player's one-year-old daughter, Carla, until she reaches the age of 18. This initiative, backed by majority shareholder Rayco Garcia, aims to provide security for the family beyond the club's legal obligations.
"Our plan is to stand by the girl and make sure the entire Tenerife family supports her."
Antonio Manuel Porro Granados
The club’s chief executive, Antonio Manuel Porro Granados, confirmed that they are actively investigating additional methods to ensure the family receives maximum support. Meanwhile, the player’s agent, Manuel Hernandez, shared a statement on behalf of the family, expressing deep gratitude for the global outpouring of affection and remembrance following the tragedy. De Miguel was laid to rest on Thursday in his parents' hometown of Navahermosa.
