Liverpool produced another memorable European night at Anfield, fighting back from two goals down to beat Villarreal 4-3. The victory ensures the Reds maintain their 100 per cent record in this season's Champions League group stage.
Villarreal stunned the hosts early on, with Georges Mikautadze capitalizing on a Virgil van Dijk error in the fourth minute. Sergi Cardona doubled the lead before the half-hour mark, leaving Liverpool facing an uphill battle. However, Alexis Mac Allister pulled one back before Ronald Araujo headed home a Rio Ngumoha cross to level the score just before half-time.

The second half belonged to Liverpool as 18-year-old Rio Ngumoha continued to terrorize the Villarreal defense. His pinpoint cross allowed Mac Allister to sweep home his second of the night, before Florian Wirtz added a fourth. Although Tani Oluwaseyi scored a late consolation for the visitors, Liverpool held firm to secure the three points.
Manager Andoni Iraola, who made six changes to his starting lineup, saw his side overcome the early deficit through sheer persistence. Ngumoha's standout performance earned him the official UEFA Player of the Match award, marking a historic night for the teenager.
