Declan Rice set for bumper new Arsenal deal to match top earners

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to extend Declan Rice's contract, offering a significant pay rise to match Bukayo Saka's wages.

Arsenal are moving to secure the long-term future of Declan Rice, with the midfielder reportedly on the verge of signing a lucrative new contract at the Emirates Stadium. According to media reports, discussions between the club and the 27-year-old are at an advanced stage following a breakthrough in negotiations.

The move aims to reward Rice for his stellar performances since his record-breaking £105 million arrival from West Ham in 2023. By extending his stay now, the Gunners hope to prevent any potential interest from rival clubs, as his current agreement was set to enter its final year at the end of next season.

The new terms will see a significant boost to Rice's weekly earnings. Currently on approximately £240,000 per week, the England international is expected to reach the £350,000 mark. This adjustment places him alongside Bukayo Saka as the highest-paid player in the squad, reflecting his status as a cornerstone of the team's recent success.

A vital piece of the project

Rice's impact in North London has been undeniable. With 165 appearances, 21 goals, and 33 assists, he played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s historic Premier League title win last season. His leadership and versatility have made him indispensable to Mikel Arteta, who himself recently committed to a new four-year contract.

"He has earned the right to increase that role, to be more and more important."

Mikel Arteta

The club's owners, Stan and Josh Kroenke, are focused on retaining their core talent to maintain their competitive edge. With the manager and top stars already signed to new deals, securing Rice ensures the spine of the team remains intact for years to come.

"He is one of the very best midfielders in the world."

Thomas Tuchel

Even on the international stage, Rice continues to draw high praise. England boss Thomas Tuchel recently lauded his quality and energy, highlighting his growth since moving to the Gunners. As Arsenal look to build on their recent silverware, this contract renewal signals their intent to remain at the pinnacle of English football.
