Lamine Yamal Inspires Barcelona to Dominant Champions League Win in Istanbul

Barcelona overcame a challenging atmosphere at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium to secure a convincing 4-1 win over Galatasaray on Tuesday night. Despite a shaky period in the first half, the Spanish giants found their rhythm to move to the summit of the Champions League table with two consecutive victories.

The match began with Barcelona in control, yet it was the hosts who took a surprise lead after 27 minutes. Following a counter-attack led by Rafael Leao, Aleksey Batrakov’s effort took a deflection off Joao Cancelo and found the back of the net. Galatasaray briefly thought they had doubled their advantage when Victor Osimhen headed home, but the goal was ruled out for offside against Baris Yilmaz.

Yamal Takes Control

Barcelona managed to equalize before the interval when Joao Cancelo capitalized on a defensive error by Davinson Sanchez. However, it was the second half where Lamine Yamal truly took over. The 19-year-old provided a pinpoint cross for Fermin Lopez to head Barcelona into the lead in the 50th minute.

"It’s incredible to have players like that. He’s turned the game around for us."

Hansi Flick

Just three minutes later, Yamal showcased his individual brilliance by beating Eren Elmali multiple times before setting up Anthony Gordon for a simple finish. The victory was capped off in the 65th minute when Karim Adeyemi scored after the ball fell to him following a touch from substitute Gabriel Jesus.

"When he has the ball, I always look for a run. He’s the best in the world."

The result leaves Galatasaray at the bottom of the standings without a point, while Barcelona continue their perfect start to the European campaign. Yamal, who finished the game as captain after Pedri was substituted, remains central to Hansi Flick's high-flying side.
