Barcelona turn attention to El Clásico following PSG defeat

Barcelona are recalibrating for Sunday's El Clásico after suffering their first defeat of the season, a 4-2 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Manager Hansi Flick admitted the upcoming match against Real Madrid influenced his tactical decisions in Paris, including the management of his starting lineup and substitutions.

Tactical adjustments for the big game

Flick opted to bench Rodri, who was not deemed ready for full intensity, and carefully managed the minutes of key players like Pedri, Raphinha, and Xavi Espart to ensure their availability for the weekend. The squad faces significant injury concerns, with Andreas Christensen and Eric García ruled out, and doubts surrounding Jules Koundé and Dani Olmo.

"I don't know if my legs will hold up, but I'm always prepared to play the full 90 minutes."

Raphinha

Despite the setback in Europe, players remain confident. Raphinha emphasized that the team played competitively and will not lose belief as they shift their focus back to their unbeaten domestic campaign. Flick now has four days to finalize his preparations for the crucial encounter with the European champions.

"Of course it had an influence."
