Barcelona Dealt Double Blow as Olmo Ruled Out and Kounde Doubtful for El Clásico

Barcelona have confirmed Dani Olmo will miss a month with an adductor injury, while Kounde is doubtful for the clash against Real Madrid.
FC Barcelona face severe selection problems ahead of this weekend's El Clásico showdown against Real Madrid. The Catalan club officially announced on Wednesday that attacking midfielder Dani Olmo will be sidelined for approximately one month following an injury sustained in continental competition.
Olmo was forced off during Barcelona's clash against Paris Saint-Germain after a collision with an opponent. Medical examinations later confirmed that he suffered a left adductor injury, definitively ruling him out of the pivotal rivalry encounter scheduled for this weekend.
Defensive Concerns Grow for Flick
Head coach Hans Flick must also navigate significant uncertainty in his defensive line. According to media reports, there is growing pessimism within the club regarding defender Kounde's availability for next Sunday's fixture against Real Madrid. The 27-year-old picked up a severe left ankle sprain in last Saturday's league match against Betis.
Although Kounde managed to complete the full 90 minutes against Betis, he was visibly limping the next day and ultimately missed the encounter with Paris Saint-Germain. Due to intense pain in the ankle, coaching staff consider his inclusion in El Clásico very difficult. While a painkilling injection could potentially allow him to feature, it carries the danger of worsening ligament damage. The final decision will be made late by the player, Flick, and the medical department.
With Eric García also absent, Barcelona's back line was stretched thin in Paris. A strong performance by Sergi Balde against Paris Saint-Germain offered some relief, while Flick previously noted De Jong as another potential central defensive option, though he received no playing time in midweek.
