Mikel Arteta commits to Arsenal with new long-term deal until 2030

The Premier League champions have secured Mikel Arteta's future at the Emirates Stadium with a fresh four-year contract extension.

Arsenal have officially announced that manager Mikel Arteta has signed a significant contract extension, committing his future to the club until 2030. The Spaniard, who was entering the final year of his previous agreement, has now paved the way to potentially complete a decade in charge of the North London side.

Since his arrival in late 2019, Arteta has transformed the Gunners from top-four contenders back into English champions. After finishing as runners-up for three consecutive seasons, he finally ended the club’s 22-year wait for a Premier League title during the 2025-26 campaign. His tenure has also seen the club reach their first Champions League final in two decades.

A historic record at the Emirates

Statistically, the 44-year-old has established himself as the most successful manager in Arsenal's history regarding win percentage. With a 61% success rate across 361 matches, he surpasses legendary figures like Arsene Wenger. According to media reports, this new deal also makes him the highest-paid manager in the Premier League, with his salary potentially reaching £20 million per year including performance-related bonuses.

"What is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together."

The club's ownership expressed immense satisfaction with the renewal. Co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke highlighted the "special bond" shared with the manager, noting their pride in the progress made since he returned to the club where he once served as captain.
