Antony's Home Targeted by Burglars During Real Betis Champions League Win

Former Manchester United forward Antony revealed his house was broken into while he was playing in a 3-2 victory over Porto this week.

Former Manchester United forward Antony has shared a distressing update regarding his personal life, revealing that his residence was targeted by burglars earlier this week. The incident occurred while the Brazilian was away representing his current club, Real Betis, in European competition.

The 26-year-old was a key figure on the pitch at Estadio La Cartuja on Wednesday night, providing a vital assist to help his team secure a hard-fought 3-2 comeback win against Porto. This victory was particularly special for the Spanish side, as it continued their perfect start in the Champions League after a lengthy 21-year absence from the tournament.

Security Concerns After Historic Victory

However, the joy of the sporting achievement was short-lived. On Thursday, Antony took to social media to inform his followers that his home had been broken into during the match. He described feeling a mixture of sadness and intense anger after discovering the violation of his private space.

"Today, I want to talk about something that made me very sad and angry."

The winger expressed that while the loss of physical possessions is frustrating, the psychological impact on his loved ones is the most difficult part to handle. He noted that the sense of security within his own home has been compromised, causing significant anxiety for his family members who were left shaken by the event.

"In this world, no possession is more precious than the lives and safety of my family."

Antony

Since making his permanent move to Seville following a loan spell during the 2024/25 season, Antony has become a vital part of the Betis squad. Over the course of 82 appearances for the club, he has found the back of the net 23 times and contributed 16 assists, rediscovering his form in Spain.
